Thirsk & Sowerby Remembers...

Once again as in recent years hundreds of people from Thirsk and Sowerby came to the War Memorial at Sowerby on Remembrance Sunday to honour those whose names are recorded on the War Memorial there.

On Remembrance Day itself the cold, damp weather did not put off people from again turning out in the centre of Thirsk where at the 11th hour of the 11th day the Last Post was played to mark the start of two minutes’ silence and the sacrifice of so many young man was again in people's hearts and minds.
